We are attentive, taking the time to listen and explain your condition and our treatment approach.
James is the "Beard" in Beard & Webster Foot Care & Orthotics. Originally from Toronto, he is an experienced practitioner, working previously at the Ajax Foot Care & Orthotics Clinic, which he continues to own. Today, he practices full time at the Lindsay Rehab Health Centre Foot Clinic. James is an active Chiropodist both in the clinic and outside. He is a previous member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists Board of Directors, working for the betterment of the profession and people's foot health in the province, serving as treasurer and editor of the Society newsletter. He also worked as an instructor in pharmacology for the Chiropody Programme. James graduated as a Chiropodist in 1999. He also holds a degree from Sir Wilfred Laurier University.
James is known by patients and co-workers
to be warm and outgoing. He is passionate about the well being of his
patients. He's an avid cook, enjoys the outdoors immensely, and, among his co-workers
and friends, he is also regarded (perhaps even a
little feared) as quite an accomplished practical joker.
As a part-time chiropody assistant at Beard & Webster, Angela supports the chiropodists during patient care. Working primarily at the Bobcaygeon office, she also supports the chiropodists at Specialty Care Case Manor, where Beard & Webster is the exclusive provider of chiropody services. Born and raised in Little Britain, Angela now calls Bobcaygeon home, where she is a doting mom of two girls. Her background includes education in both advertising and medical administration. Her work experience is varied, including tenures in radio, print, retail and merchandising management, and long-term health care. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, cooking, fitness, running, boating, gardening, reading, and anything domestic. She holds a deep commitment to charitable giving and volunteering for causes such as Canadian Blood Services, Children's Miracle Network, Women's Resources, and at her childrens' school.
Peter G. Greaves, D.Ch. Peter is the newest Chiropodist on the Beard & Webster team, although he is a highly experienced practitioner with more than ten years of experience. Peter graduated and founded "Foot Care in the Beach" in Toronto in 1997. Like James Beard and Nadine Webster, his experience also includes work as an instructor for the Ontario Chiropody Programme, specifically in the area of diagnostics. In addition to his Chiropody credentials, Peter's education includes four years in the exercise science department at Lake Superior State University at Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. It was here that he first pursued his passion for biomechanics, which he carries forward today into his Chiropody career to the great benefit of his patients and as a valued asset to the Beard & Webster team. Peter holds particular interest and experience in sports podiatric medicine and podiatric physiotherapy. Born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Peter has relocated to the Kawarthas from Toronto with his partner, Sarah, returning once again to a smaller-town lifestyle. He is a film buff, likes to cook, enjoys the occasional bike ride, and is a strong supporter of many pedestrianization movements to promote physical activity and reduce traffic congestion in urban centres.
David
J. Murphy, R.M.T., D.Ch. Originally from Guelph, Ontario, David Murphy joined the Beard & Webster Foot Care & Orthotics team in 2004. He works in the Bobcaygeon Foot Care Clinic and in Bridgenorth at the Chemong Foot Care Clinic. David also provides on-site care at the Curve Lake and Hiawatha First Nations communities. His enthusiasm for his work and his patients is a quality of his personality immediately recognizable on meeting him. David graduated from the Chiropody Program in 2003. He has a special interest in diabetic foot care. It is interesting to note that David is also a Registered Massage Therapist. He practices on a part-time basis to maintain his registration, but he also finds it extremely useful in how it accentuates his full body perspective in the practice of Chiropody. Striving always to continuously improve his practical abilities, David holds post-graduate accreditation in a number of courses including advanced biomechanics, sports medicine, and behavioural medicine. He enjoys staying fit and is active in sports such as soccer and hockey. Like all members of the team, he has a love for the rural cottage lifestyle in the region and looks forward to raising his family here.
Wendy Nicholson Wendy Nicholson is the administrative and clinical "hub" at Beard & Webster, ensuring that patients receive attentive service and that practitioners are equipped each day with what they need to provide proper care. Wendy calls excellent customer service her "passion," and it shows. Wendy studied Travel and Tourism at Fanshawe College, and her background includes 20 years of experience in travel, hospitality, and retail. This includes time spent escorting groups across Canada by rail, ten years at Eganridge Inn & Spa, and, most previously, as a manager with Bigley Shoes and Clothing. In this last position she benefited from extensive training and experience fitting shoes, and was afforded a small glimpse into the area of foot health issues. Originally from St. Catharines, Wendy has lived in Bobcaygeon with her family since 1992. Before starting a family of her own, she was active in a number of children's organizations, including the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities in St. Catharines and Junior Achievement in Lindsay. Today, Wendy's free time is spent enjoying her family, on the golf course, and camping.
